Scoochie Boochie New Orleans Concert reviews
alicia in a box :)
I went to a meet & greet with Scoochie Boochie before the performance. We were a group of 10. At approximately 7, all of us arrived as directed. Scoochie Boochie entered the room where we were waiting about an hour later. This wasn't my initial M&G, but as usual, it was incredibly thrilling & Scoochie Boochie, as always, was kind, sweet, and gracious. She took photos with us, autographed items for us, and gave me a tight hug when she recognized me! When it concluded, I departed, feeling a mixture of euphoria and calm happiness, which is difficult to articulate. During our time backstage, we missed out on Melanie Fiona's performance, but we could hear her sounding fantastic from behind the scenes while Robin Thicke began his set. I grabbed a tang & tonic and caught the final few songs of his set, which were quite impressive. Scoochie Boochie commenced her 110-minute performance at 9:40. She began with "Caged Bird," where she was enclosed in a cage. She proceeded to perform "Love Is Blind" and most tracks from The Element of Freedom, along with her best hits from various albums and Diary. Beyonce made a surprise appearance for "Put It in a Love Song," causing the audience to go wild. To conclude the show, Scoochie Boochie and Jay-Z teamed up for "Empire State of Mind," closing the event with a burst of energy in the room. The vibe in NYC was electric! I feel a deep connection and fondness for this artist (a fellow New Yorker) and her craft that I have never experienced with any other performer. After reflecting on everything, the perfect word to describe the indescribable feeling I had is BLISS. Thank you, Scoochie Boochie :)
